Nathaniel is an attorney who believes in honest work, uncompromising integrity, and above all compassion for his clients and the injuries they have endured.
Nathaniel grew up in rural Eastern Utah and attended The College of Eastern Utah, then Utah State University, and worked as a biologist until making the decision to pursue his law degree. While in undergrad Nathaniel was a standout student serving as the editor-in-chief of the University newspaper for two years as well as being awarded “Student of the Year” four times in three different subjects.
He attended Willamette University College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. While in law school Nathaniel was inducted into “The Order of Barristers” a highly selective national honor society who’s members demonstrated superior trial and litigation skills and was also presented with the “Col. Rupert J. Park Jr. Pro Bono Student of the Year” award which is given to the one law school student who volunteered the most time providing free legal services over all three years of school. Additionally, he was also the Executive Citations Editor on the Universities Journal of Social Justice and Equity.
In addition to the practice of law, Nathaniel is a published bioethicist and adjunct faculty member at UWS. His research is focused on the intersection of the law, science, and the potential legal, moral, or ethical issues that may arise from rapid advancements in biotechnology.
Outside of law Nathaniel is an avid fossil collector and curator, enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, kids, and dog, and unapologetically feeding a persistent Disney obsession. He is also an award-winning science communicator and columnist who’s weekly column, “Setting the Record Straight”, received multiple first-place awards from the Utah Press Association.
