Richard D. GattiRichard obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon State College where he majored in English and Education. His interest in writing and the many issues teachers faced led him and his brother Dan to write and publish books on school law. Their first book, The Teacher and the Law, was published while they were still in law school. That book was adopted as a text book on the subject at many universities throughout the country. Richard and Dan soon became the country’s leading authorities in the field, and they themselves taught graduate courses for teachers and administrators and were keynote speakers at major educational conventions in the United States.Richard obtained his law degree from Willamette University where he won the academic honor of being on the Dean’s list. He was a contributing author for the Willamette Law Review. In his first year following graduation from law school, Richard was chosen to be the attorney advisor to the Governor’s Task Force on Public Employee Bargaining. He was the primary author of Oregon’s public employee bargaining law which provided the framework for many similar laws subsequently adopted throughout the country. Richard and his brother Dan co-authored three additional authoritative school law books published by Simon & Schuster, Prentice-Hall, and Parker Publishing Company: "The Encyclopedic Dictionary of School Law" "The New Encyclopedic Dictionary of School Law" "The Educator’s Encyclopedia of School Law" Richard’s talents as a writer, speaker and instructor gave him the unique ability to connect with and establish a rapport with juries. He chose to devote his law practice to civil litigation. Over the years, Richard has resolved thousands of personal injury claims. Mr. Gatti specializes in personal injury and wrongful death claims. His sensitivity and thorough understanding of the problems which injured individuals face in seeking to recover from the injuries and losses suffered in automobile collisions have enabled him to provide the best of legal services to his clients. Richard devotes his time, effort and skill to obtain just and fair compensation for injuries caused by motor vehicle accidents, and helps resolve insurance claims, uninsured motorist claims, and medical treatment disputes. Richard Gatti has been admitted to the Oregon State Bar, Arizona State Bar (inactive), Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, US District Court, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. |
